Yunyang (云阳) is a county in China’s Chongqing Municipality.

The county is approximately 320 kilometers northeast of central Chongqing, and about 50 km east of Wanzhou District.

[edit]- 1 Yunyang Railway Station (云阳站), Ping’an Street, Huangshi Town (黄石镇平安街) (bus nos. 610, 616 and 623). Trains from Chongqing North Railway Station in central Chongqing take approximately one and a half hours to reach this station.

- 1 Longgang National Geopark (龙缸国家地质公园, Longgang Scenic Area 龙缸景区), Yunqing Road, Qingshui Tujia Township (清水土家族乡云清路) (take a bus from Yunyang Dongcheng Bus Station; buses to the park are also available from Wanzhou South Bus Station), ☏ +86 23 55333111. summer opening hours: 08:00-18:30; winter opening hours: 08:30-17:30; ticket sales end 3 hours before closing time; no entry permitted 2 and a half hours before closing time. A major national park known for its karst scenery. ¥100.
- 2 Qixia Temple (Qixia Palace, 栖霞宫), Yunyang County (云阳县) (after arriving at the county seat, you will need to catch a taxi or motorized pedicab to get to the temple), ☏ +86 23 55128228. The original name of this temple was Yunsheng Palace (云升宫). It is 5 km northwest of Yunyang Town. It was built in the Han Dynasty, but repaired many times in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. ¥10.
- 3 Yunyang Dinosaur National Geopark (云阳恐龙国家地质公园), Pu’an Township (普安乡) (take the ferry to Pu’an from the Yunyang County Seat Wharf; alternatively take a bus to Pu’an from Yunyang Dongcheng Bus Station), ☏ +86 23 55888666. summer opening hours: 08:00-18:30; winter opening hours: 08:30-17:30; ticket sales end 1 hour before closing time. Opened in 2024, this new geopark preserves an internationally significant dinosaur fossil site that was discovered only 10 years earlier. Of particular interest is the 150-meter long fossil wall, which contains over 5000 Jurassic fossils. ¥40.

Memorial temple dedicated to Zhang Fei, a famous general who served the kingdom of Shu-Han during the Three Kingdoms period. ¥35.
