    By car

    Zaventem is located on the E40/A3 with the exits Sterrebeek and Kraainem. Furthermore, within the municipality there is the motorway junction Sint-Stevens-Woluwe. Here the E40 merges with the R0 (Brussels ring road).

    The R0 also passes through Zaventem and has two exits: Zaventem-Henneaulaan and the motorway access to the airport.

    The airport link road A201 leads directly to the airport terminal via the exit Zaventem-Centrum.

    • 1 Zaventem train station. Served by the S2 and S9 lines of the Brussels suburban rail service and by InterCity trains. Zaventem railway station (Q4370800) on Wikidata

    Zaventem is easily accessible by bus, as all lines start or end at the airport. There are bus connections to Brussels, Mechelen, Leuven and surrounding cities. The lines are operated by the bus company De Lijn.

    Saint Martin Sharing His Cloak in the Saint Martin church
    • 1 Saint Martin church (Église Saint-Martin, Sint-Martinuskerk), Kerkplein, +32 2 7206502 (guided tour). April 1st-September 30th: M-Su 9:00-18:00; October 1st-March 31st: M-Su 9:00-16:30. Built in Gothic style in the 17th century, it preserves in the basement of the tower the remains of the Romanesque church dating back to 1100. It contains a famous oil painting on panel by Anthony van Dyck: Saint Martin Sharing his Cloak; Executed in 1618, this work is prior to the commission carried out between 1620 and 1621 for the crown of England and today preserved in the Royal Collection. Free.
    • 2 Saint Pancras church (Église Saint-Pancrasse, Sint-Pancratiuskerk), Zavelstraat. Rebuilt at the end of the 19th century in neo-Romanesque style, only the 12th century Romanesque tower remains of the original sanctuary. In the church there is an early painting (around 1623) by Nicolas Poussin: The Death of Mary.
    • 3 Memorial Garden (By bus: lines 820 and 821 (stop "Zaventem Memorial Garden"); by car: free parking possible Tuinwijkstraat). 24 hours. The park was inaugurated on March 22, 2017, exactly one year after the terrorist attack at the airport. At its center is the sculpture Flight in Mind by Olivier Strebelle, which has been in the departure hall since 1995. Severely damaged by the first of the two explosions, it was repaired, leaving the scars visible, and replaced here. Free.
