
Zirahuen is a town on Lake Zirahuen in the Lake Patzcuaro region of the state of Michoacan, Mexico. It is a peaceful lakeside retreat that is popular for romantic getaways, spiritual or company retreats, and weddings and social events.

[edit]The lake covers an area of 970 hectares. It is mostly shallow (though the center of the lake drops to about 40 meters deep). The waters are usually calm and locals refer to it as "the mirror of the gods". Along its shores are marshy grasslands and forests with pine, oak, and arbutus trees.

[edit]Several vendors selling freshly made comida including fresh blue tortillas along the boardwalk. There is also a nice formal restaurant enjoyed by many visitors especially during weekends and holidays.
