    Blayney Station is heritage listed.
Not to be confused with Blarney in Ireland.

Blayney is a farming and agricultural centre of 3,000 (2021) in the Central West region of New South Wales. It sits along the Mid-Western Highway, a highway between Bathurst and Hay but more broadly connects between Sydney and Adelaide.

    By car

    [edit]

Blayney is on the Mid-Western Highway (A41) on the section between Cowra and Bathurst. From Bathurst CBD, head southwest for 38 km (24 mi) which should take about 30 minutes. This section of road is fairly good with overtaking lanes provided occasionally. From Cowra, head northeast for 70 km (43 mi) or about 50 minutes.

You can also use Millthorpe Road from Millthorpe and Orange.

    By train

    [edit]

1 Blayney Station Blayney railway station on Wikipedia is on two different NSW Trainlink train routes; both of which require advance booking on the NSW Trainlink website. As of early 2025, a trip from Central Station in Sydney costs $26.45 on economy and $37.45 on first class.

The Dubbo XPT runs between Sydney and Dubbo each way on a daily basis – the train leaves at 7:19AM from Central and arrives at Blayney Station at 11:40AM before continuing onwards. The return service leaves Dubbo at 2:15PM, arrives at Blayney 4:20PM and reaches Central at 8:46PM.

The Broken Hill XPL (Outback Xplorer) runs between Sydney and Broken Hill once a week in each direction. The westbound train from Sydney leaves Central Station at 6:19AM and arrives at Blayney at 10:38AM on Mondays. On Tuesdays, the XPL service leaves Broken Hill Station at 7:45AM and arrives at 5:11PM. This costs $64.55 on economy and $90.40 in first class.

    By coach (bus)

    [edit]

Coach services exist from Lithgow, Grenfell and Orange. Coach services stop directly to the south of the railway station.
