Bruce Mines is a town in the Near North region of Northern Ontario.

[edit]The copper deposits of the region were first discovered by non-native settlers in 1846.
As of 2021, it had a population of 582 people.

[edit]- Ontario Northland bus, In front of the Esso gas station, toll-free: +1-800-363-7512. One bus leaves Sault-Ste-Marie Su-F at 10:20AM; one hour, $12-19 one-way. From Sudbury, the bus leaves Su-F at 5:40PM; 3 hr 40 min, $55-65 one-way. Leaving Bruce Mines, you must flag the bus down.

[edit]The town has a grocery store, pharmacy, mechanic, an LCBO (liquor) outlet, and a single gas station. A hardware store is located 3km north of town, in the hamlet of Bruce Station.

The McKay Island Lighthouse was built in 1907 to serve the timber industry. It is now a housekeeping lighthouse and available to rent as accommodation for up to 6 people with 3 bedrooms (2 double beds and a set of bunk beds). $190 + tax for two people, $10 extra for additional guests; weekly $1200 + tax.
