Understand
[edit]Get in
[edit]Costinești is 31 km south of Constanta. You can get there by car using DN 39 (E 87), by train (about 35 minutes from Constanta) or by bus (in the summer there are private buses that leave every 15 minutes from the train station in Constanta).
Get around
[edit]You can walk from one end of the city to the other. You can drive in the village but the resort streets are mostly for pedestrians.
See
[edit]The raised northern and southern seafronts offer broad views of the beach. In the north you can see the shipwrecked boat Evanghelia that became a symbol for the resort. In the south you can visit Golful Francezului (the Frenchman's Bay), a natural swimming pool created by the sea through the erosion of the limestone shore. The fine sand beach, 800 m long and 10-50 m wide, is crossed by a canal that join the Black Sea with an inner lake.
Do
[edit]The resort once was a students' sea resort and has kept its youthful spirit. You will find very large open-air dance-clubs that are open all night long and countless restaurants and bars. On the beach you can rent water sports equipment or take a cruise on a small boat or paddle-boat.
Buy
[edit]In the summer the main street leading to the beach is filled with stands offering souvenirs, toys, clothes, food and drinks.
Eat
[edit]The only issue you will have will be selecting one of the many beautiful locations to eat you will find. The prices are acceptable and the serving is constantly improving. The foods in the restaurants range from traditional Romanian foods to international cuisine, but you will also want to taste the fresh fried fish, Turkish shaworma or chocolate donuts that tourists queue up for.
Drink
[edit]There are bars on the beach but also with the hotels and close to the accommodation facilities.
Sleep
[edit]There is a wide range of accommodation on offer from large hotels to seaside villas.
Connect
[edit]Internet access is available in internet cafes and wireless hotspots are available in some locations.
Go next
[edit]From Costinești you can plan trips to other resorts on the Romanian sea shore that are just a few kilometres away.
