    Deux-Montagnes is a picturesque and modern town in the northwestern suburbs of Montreal, on the north shore of Lac des Deux-Montagnes, in the Deux-Montagnes Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Laurentians, Quebec.

    Deux-Montagnes is becoming an increasingly popular destination for its recreational tourism offer. The main attractions of Deux-Montagnes are:

    • the Canadian-style town hall building, which is listed in the Canadian Register of Historic Places;
    • Sainte-Marie des Deux-Montagnes Abbey;
    • the Royal Canadian Legion, the Veterans Building;
    • Parc Bélair, which exhibits a Canadian National electric tramway; this park is located along the Rivière des Mille Îles;
    • the Boisé-Roger-Lemoine Nature Reserve; and
    • the north shore of Lac des Deux-Montagnes: Bélair park, Moir park, Aimé-Struthers park, Grand Moulin rapids, Aimé-Struthers park, Olympia park, Louis Warren park, Boisé-Roger Lemoine Nature Reserve.

    Lac des Deux-Montagnes and Rivière des Mille Îles are the main attractions for water sports in the area. The north shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles is a 4.5-km shoreline that promotes boating on the river and Lac des Deux-Montagnes.

    The Grand-Moulin dam, erected at the outlet of Lac des Deux-Montagnes, connects the Laval-Ouest district to Laval on Île Jésus, on the south shore, east of the city of Deux-Montagnes. It spans the Boisée Island. Built in concrete, it has a cycle path and a wide pedestrian walkway.

    Grand-Moulin Station
    • 1 Grand-Moulin Station (Gare Grand-Moulin) (at the corner of 9th Avenue and Boulevard du Lac.). This station is served by the exo train. The railway line has been being redeveloped since 2021 to accommodate the REM train, which is interconnected with the large metropolitan network and provides access to the DIX-30 station in Brossard. Access to the station is via boulevard du Lac and from the park-and-ride lots. A pedestrian passage under the new boulevard du Lac viaduct facilitates access to the station. free.     • From Laval (21 km (13 mi). Time: 23 min) from downtown Laval, take Highway 440 (westbound); to route 148 (head north); after crossing the Rivière des Mille Îles, take Route 344 (southwest) to downtown Deux-Montagnes.
    • From Saint-Jérôme (38 km (24 mi). Time: 42 min), from Saint-Jérôme, take Highway 15 (southbound); take highway 640 (direction west west); take Route 148 (southbound) and cross the town of Saint-Eustache; take route 344 (westbound) to downtown Deux-Montagnes.

This former school building was erected around 1937. This building has a hipped roof on each of the two annexes and a gable roof for the central part which is higher.     • 7 Maison-Berthelet heritage site (Site du patrimoine de la Maison-Berthelet), 1506, chemin d'Oka. Building comprising a 1½-storey stone residence built between 1820 and 1850. The roof is gable with upturned strips. This architecture is characteristic of rural dwellings built in the first half of the 19th century. free.
    • 8 Heritage site of the Maison-Dumoulin (Site du patrimoine de la Maison-Dumoulin), 2501, chemin d'Oka, +1. Canadian roof building, whose exterior walls are made of field stones. Heritage site officially recognized on January 13, 2005. free.
