    Idlib (Arabic: إِدْلِب) is a city in Northwestern Syria. Before the Syrian Civil War (2011-2024), it had a population of 165,000.

    Idlib is a major agricultural center in Syria for olive trees, fruit trees, and grapes.

    During the civil war in Syria, Idlib became the last major refuge for opposition forces. It was the scene of several military offensives by the Syrian armed forces from the beginning of 2020 until the collapse of the Assad regime in early December 2024.

    It is 59 km (37 mi) southwest of Aleppo. The border with Turkey is about 20 km away.
