[edit]Matatus and buses go to Eldoret (2 hours), Kisumu (4 hours), Lodwar (6-8 hours), and Webuye (1 hour). Easy Coach goes to Nairobi (7 hours) and Nakuru (4 hours).
The railway network in Western Kenya is under rehabilitation and the line between Kitale and Eldoret is expected to reopen in 2022-2023.

- 3 Kitum Caves. The forest is home to some impressive caves that are well worth a visit. When you arrive at the park entrance, it is advisable to ask for a park guide. As the walk is quite long, you should take plenty of water, snacks and a first aid kit with you, as well as any other essentials you might need for the journey. The park's roads are well developed. While a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, it is only really necessary during the rainy season. Mobile phone reception is reliable throughout the park, which can be helpful if you lose your bearings. Exercise caution when entering the caves: do not touch the ground or sit down, as faeces from animals often accumulates there. These can contain pathogens that cause haemorrhagic fevers, such as Ebola or the Marburg virus. To protect yourself, wear a mask and thoroughly disinfect your hands after leaving the cave.
- 4 Kapcherop Forest. This tropical mountain forest receives around 2,500 mm of rainfall each year. The area is ideal for hiking and picnicking, and its scenic beauty captivates visitors. For safety reasons, it is recommended that you hire a guide and consult the district tourism authority in advance.
