The region has several locations famous from The Count of Monte Cristo, including the Island of Monte Cristo. The province of Livorno is coastal and contains a number of coastal towns.

- 2 Castiglioncello — an elegant resort with numerous hotels, bathing establishments, and a beautiful pine forest
- 3 Rosignano Marittimo — an historic village on a hill, with an ancient castle with wonderful vistas of the sea and surrounding hills

[edit]The only airport in the province is Marina di Campo Airport (EBA IATA) on the island of Elba that has flights from Pisa, Florence, Milan-Linate and Lugano.
Just north of the province is the international airport at Pisa.
