[edit]- Moorhead is at Minnesota's western border on Interstate Highway 94. US Highway 10 has its western terminus in Moorhead, and US Highway 75 passes through the city in a north/south orientation.
By train
[edit]- The Fargo/Moorhead area has rail service via Amtrak (the Empire Builder), with the passenger terminal at 420 4th Street North in Fargo. Trains only come once a day in each direction, in the middle of the night.

By bus
[edit]- Bus service is provided by 1 Jefferson Lines, serving one stop in Moorhead and two across the state border in Fargo, from cities in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana. Check the schedules for all three stops in the Fargo-Moorhead area, as different buses serve different stops.

- 4 Comstock House, 560 Eighth Street S, ☏ +1 218-291-4211, [email protected]. Guided tours, antique furniture and tapestries enlighten visitors to Moorhead's first mansion, the home of Solomon Comstock.
- 5 Interstate Raceway, 4147 70th St SW, Glyndon, ☏ +1 701-893-8511. Heads up, brackets, and open track time is scheduled throughout the summer. The track has RV parking and a playground for children.
- 6 Rourke Art Museum, 521 Main Ave, ☏ +1 218-236-8861. Surprisingly great art museum with a variety of thought-provoking artwork. The gift shop has high-quality local souvenirs. Free.
In addition, there's a variety of fun activities and interesting landmarks across the river in Fargo. These include many restaurants, shopping, professional minor-league baseball, museums, and more.

- 8 The Original Moorhead Dairy Queen, 24 8th St S, ☏ +1 218-233-3221, [email protected]. Daily 10AM-10PM. One of the original Dairy Queen locations. There's a statue of the world's largest Dilly Bar outside! And they can't produce certain ice creams for some reason. Open from March 1st to the end of October, and closed on Easter and July 4th.
- 9 Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave N, ☏ +1 218-299-5515. M-Sa 9AM-5PM, Su noon-5PM. Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, containing a replica of a viking ship which sailed to Norway. You can see the ship and a route it took on a map. There's also a wooden traditional Scandinavian church and a nice little park by the river. Free on Tuesdays 5-8PM.
