    Myrtle Point is said to be one of the best-preserved small towns in Southern Oregon. The town is at the southern end of the Coquille River Valley, about 25 miles inland from the city of Bandon along the Oregon coast. The historic downtown is accompanied by many traditional homes, with some being in mint condition and others in the process of renovation.

    Myrtle Point is a part of Coos County and is located along the Coquille River. You will be able to find it by traveling southwest from Roseburg or east from Coos Bay on Highway 42.

    Highway 42 runs right through the heart of Myrtle Point. It is accessible from either direction: east or west. The main mode of transportation is by car. However, there is an occasional horseback traveler.

    Myrtle Point's Logging Museum is one of the main attractions the town has to offer. It is full of all kinds of equipment and artifacts that were used in the old days of logging. The other main attraction in Myrtle Point is the annually held Coos County Fair and Rodeo. Events at the fair include the youth livestock auction, numerous games and rides for kids, the downtown parade, and most of all the rodeo, which offers a real country feel. One other spotlight of the city is its myrtlewood groves. Some of the largest myrtle trees can be viewed from within the city limits. A walking tree tour is available that highlights the wide variety of trees that grow in the area.

    As for recreation, the town has 4 parks that include basketball courts, softball field, tennis courts, along with your different types of playground equipment, such as swings and slides, for all people to enjoy. One of the parks downtown also has a skate park that is very popular for kids who enjoy skateboarding.
