    Newport is a city in the Northeast Kingdom region of Vermont.

    From the south, Newport is most easily accessible using Interstate 91. Taking exits 27 or 28 will lead you into the town. From the north, take Autoroute 55 South from Quebec, and you will find Newport just a few miles after crossing the U.S./Canadian border.

    • Pick and Shovel. An independent hardware store turned mega-mart. You can find almost anything in this great spot: a toilet, board game, banana split, or new pet fish.

    • Lago, Main Street. A wonderful Italian restaurant. The food is truly artisan, you won't find any overcooked baked ziti here. The salads, pizzas, and seafood are worth highlighting.

    There are a few bars on Main Street which are also just a short walk away from the waterfront boardwalks near Lake Memphremagog.
