Ostabat-Asme is a starting or meeting point for the traditional Way of St. James, a route for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela.
Get in
[edit | edit source]By foot
[edit | edit source]Some of the routes to Santiago de Compostela join here: one comes from Paris via Tours, Poitiers and Bordeaux, one from the valley of the Rhone via Le Puy-en-Velay (this is the GR 65 route).
The last 22 km of the route from Le Puy-en-Velay (Chemin du Puy), from Aroue, is part of the
UNESCO World Heritage Site of Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France.
Get around
[edit | edit source]The village is tiny. Get around on foot, as pilgrims have for centuries.
