Formatting and language conventions
For articles about Myanmar, please use the 24-hour clock to show times, e.g. 09:00-12:00 and 18:00-00:00. Please show prices in this format: 100 kyat and not 100 Ks, K100 or MKK 100. Please use British spelling (colour, travelled, centre, realise, analogue, programme, defence).

Warning expansion
[edit]@Ground Zero: Looking again, yeah, that was way too long. Boldfacing I just saw on other ones, good to know it’s not wanted. Having just come over here for fun after years spent explaining all the details on Myanmar over on Wikipedia, I really need to consider the different goal of this site better. - Though it’s quite strange that there’s not a single mention of Min Aung Hlaing on this whole page. TEMPO156 (talk) 19:22, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- @TEMPO156: Welcome to Wikivoyage. We do do things differently here than Wikipedia. Here is a good place to start: Welcome, Wikipedians. Above all, we are writing a travel guide, not an encyclopedia, so yes, our history and politics content will always be lacking compared to Wikipedia, as it really should be. We don't uses references, so we try to keep it high-level, knowing that readers should go to Wikipedia or other sources for more details. Our coverage of what to see and do in Myanmar is probably pretty weak too, or out of date, so it would be great if you could take a look at that and make whatever changes you think are needed. We always value local knowledge. Again, welcome to Wikivoyage. Ground Zero (talk) 21:39, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'll expand the body content, and try to update the warning without making it longer with political detail. TEMPO156 (talk) 04:41, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
