Merger

[edit]

Since this article and Amlan (Negros Oriental) have had no useful information added during their 18-month existence, shall we merge them into Dumaguete so they don't sit here as annoyances to readers? They can be recreated when someone decides to find useful info to add, like places to stay, what to see, how to get in. Ground Zero (talk) 16:35, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

See earlier discussion at Talk:Dumaguete#Merge_in_nearby_towns.3F and Talk:Sibulan. I made those mergers but consider the ones suggested here dubious. These towns are quite a distance from Duma and not speck-on-the-map tiny. Both have some beach resorts and restaurants, and listing those in the Duma article would clutter it.
If we do decide to redirect, I'd want to merge them into the province article, Negros Oriental, rather than Dumaguete. Pashley (talk) 19:25, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Living in Duma, I knew someone working in San Jose who came into town several times a week for beer. When the city shut off power for a day, a bunch of us went out to a resort in Amlan for the afternoon; my Duma expat friends apparently did that regularly. I defer to your local knowledge, of course, and will change the propose to merge/redirect them into Negros Oriental. Ground Zero (talk) 03:28, 25 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Both have now been merged, but as mentioned above "They can be recreated when..." Eventually, they should be; both are towns of over 20,000 with several beach resorts. Pashley (talk) 03:50, 22 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
