    Tarim is in Xinjiang in China. It is south of Tian Mountain running through the middle of Xinjiang Province. It consists of Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, Kashgar Prefecture, Tumxuk city, Aksu Prefecture, Aral City, Khotan Prefecture and Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. The disputed Aksai Chin lies partly in Khotan Prefecture.
