[edit]- Niagara Region Transit. Route 50 and Route 55 from St. Catharines and Niagara Falls make stops at the Thorold Towpath Terminal.

[edit]The closest major airports are Niagara Falls/Niagara South Airport, Niagara District Airport, and Buffalo Niagara International Airport. Toronto Pearson is also a major international airport but is approximately 100 km away.
Get around
[edit]- Niagara Region Transit. Most bus service routes focus on transport to Brock University and scheduling may vary depending on the time of year. Route 320/420 will go to the Pen Centre and then turn into another bus route that goes to downtown St. Catharines. Navigating to most of Thorold South is difficult through public transit.

- 4 St. Johns Conservation Area, 3101 Barron Rd, Fonthill, ☏ +1 905-788-3135. Freely accessible park that has four trails. A pond located within it allows fishing with some restrictions.

- 2 Hike the Bruce Trail. The trail forms a loop around Thorold; a side trail follows the Welland Canals Trail to the Allanburg Bridge, before returning to St. Catharines near Decew Falls.
- 3 Hike or bike the Greater Niagara Circle Route. 140-km trail that goes through Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Welland, Thorold, St. Catharines and Niagara on the Lake.

- Avondale Food Stores, 206 Richmond St, ☏ +1 905-227-0484. Convenience store in the same complex as the Big Red Market. It's well-stocked, has a good atmosphere, and has a lot of good basic food and drinks.
