    Hello Andyfarrell! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. I'm trying to get my head around the do's and don'ts of external links. Is this an acceptable use of an external link? On the one hand it seems to simply be a link to a guide website, put in by a user who has pretty much only added links to that and its sister site to various articles, on the other hand it could be legitimate in directing readers to a source about the Mayan culture.

I've found myself cutting quite a few external links and wanted to get some advice on whether I'm being over-zealous. (WT-en) Andyfarrell 10:59, 17 October 2007 (EDT)

No that's not an acceptable extlink. Thanks for doing this sort of patrolling... --(WT-en) Jonboy 11:24, 17 October 2007 (EDT)

    Ben Nevis

Thanks for finally creating that! I'm kind of amazed it didn't exist already. (WT-en) Jpatokal 23:40, 17 August 2009 (EDT)

Thanks. It was a reaction: I was worried I was perpetuating a pointless discussion so I went to try and find something productive to do! (WT-en) Andyfarrell 02:51, 18 August 2009 (EDT)

    Riga

    Hello Andy,

Thank you for your answer and sorry for my mistakes. I'm a beginner and I didn't understand how to make theses changes. Now I hope everything will be fine.

By the way, taking into account there is only 3 categories of sleep, I think it's better to make some changes like that : Dodo Hotel will be better in Mid-range as well as Metropole Hotel. I'll do it.

The image of budget hotel table was done by myself. The data come from google maps and a latvian magazine. I did it for a friend who work in travel agency. I can confirm the data can be used for any document, and I give to everyone the right to use this picture. It's very usefull for customers. Even if it helps the Top 5 of the hotels in this table, it also provide a right information to others. If a guest get a good deal with one hotel, he can decide if want to spend more time in transport or not for such price. But it will not have an unpleasant surprise. I'll modify this picture when I'll have time to avoid misunderstanding and I'll load it.

To bring a right and updated information can help Riga to get more satisfied tourist.

    Tawain regions map

    [edit]

Good spot :) It was indeed 2 x actual scale. I have fixed and re-uploaded. Purge cache if you cannot see the corrected version. I hope in any case you find the map useful. This one has a special place for me as it was the first ever regional map I drew for Wikivoyage. Cheers. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 08:01, 7 January 2010 (EST)

I'm finding it very useful. Currently planning a tour of Taiwan for next xmas, and trying to get a sense of what we can do in a timescale, so the map's invaluable. (WT-en) Andyfarrell 08:25, 7 January 2010 (EST)

Hi Andy! Thank you for your comment on the anon user page. It has been a pretty long development with him and every approach has failed so far. I adopted the German speaking countries for the last four years as the coverage has been pretty weak from others and this anon user is the first one that insulted me personally. I just wanted to let you know that i'm male because you wrote her in your text. Have a great weekend, (WT-en) jan 15:29, 7 May 2010 (EDT)

Hi Andy! The anon user is back and his comment was F-CK YOU!!! You know nothing! How dare you insult my language like that? It's called Züritüütsch and will always be called Züritüütsch. F-cking Bernese. I think that justifies a ban. (WT-en) jan 07:02, 10 May 2010 (EDT)
