Hi there. Please stop edit warring. You need to explain on Talk:Marrakech how your tour listing is acceptable under this site's tour and other policies, rather than simply re-listing without comment, which wastes everyone's time. If you continue edit warring, someone will block your posting privileges to save time for everyone. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:35, 9 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, have read this message and also the other message that you have sent me, I have read the tours guidelines, and i think that we should be able to be listed under do as we do provide tours that it is not possible for individual travellers to complete themselves, including multiple day tours, with 4x4 excursions and camel treks through the desert with an overnight stay at camps, luxury or otherwise. Please let me know if i am allowed to post under Do instead? —The preceding comment was added by Magnificent Morocco (talkcontribs)

To answer your question: Multiple days do not "value added" make, under the terms of this site's tour policy. However, if your company itself conducts camel treks, you absolutely can list it and specify this - yes, under "Do". Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:56, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi ok, thank you for the information, the tours which we offer are completely planned and are not something that an individual traveller could do themselves, that was the requirement no? We do conduct camel treks within one of our organised tours so is that good enough to post? Magnificent Morocco (talk) 09:36, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

No, being completely planned does not mean that an individual traveller couldn't do the same thing. Please reread this, which is at Wikivoyage:Listings#Tour listings:

Tours can be listed on Wikivoyage as long as they constitute a value-added activity. If a traveller could fulfill the substance of the tour on their own, the tour should not be listed.

Here are a few guidelines to assist determining whether a tour should be listed in our guides:

    1. The operator must have a "real world" office with a phone number and address where the tour is operated.
    2. Tours should offer something as a supplement, rather than a replacement for Wikivoyage guides. They should count as an activity available at a destination (e.g., a helicopter tour of a city, or a camel expedition into the Sahara).
    3. If the tour operator is providing a booking service or general travel planning then it should not be listed.
    4. Do not list resellers of tours, only list the actual tour operators.
    5. Always list tour operators if they are requisite to visit a certain area. Examples include tours required by law (e.g., Panmunjeom and Chernobyl) and tours required due to exceptional danger (e.g., war zones and extreme environments such as the Amazon, Antarctica, Space, etc).

In practice this policy disallows listing most audio tours, walking tours, and guided tours since the substance of such tours can generally be fulfilled by an independent traveller, and the information provided on such tours should ideally be included in the appropriate Wikivoyage article. If you have a question about whether a tour can be listed, or feel that an exception is warranted, please use the talk page of the appropriate article to discuss your concerns.

I think I already answered your other question in my very last post. But I think that before you repost your listing, with edits keeping in mind these things and the don't tout guidelines, you should explain on Talk:Marrakech why it's OK to do so, as other users will be suspicious of you after the edit war you engaged in. You may link to this thread in your thread on that talk page. See you there. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:50, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

As i am very new to this, i dont understand what you mean when you say to post an explanation? Where do i post it? Magnificent Morocco (talk) 10:21, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Marrakech. I've taken a lot of time with you, so I hope you don't just post this listing and then do nothing else. Please read Welcome, business owners for some more thoughts on how you can help travellers reading these pages. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:25, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

You didnt answer my question, and i dont feel that being blunt as you were in your last comment is necessary, I have never had anything to do with this site before, and i just needed some guidance, i did things wrong to begin with, unfortunately a mistake because i am so unfamiliar with the site. I will certainly read the guidelines and contribute whenever i can. Magnificent Morocco (talk) 10:55, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I answered your question. Now, for the third time, you should post your explanation at Talk:Marrakech. Thank you. Like everyone else here, I am a volunteer. We prefer for people not to take a lot of volunteers' time, post one business listing and leave. If you don't like that I request for you to consider doing more for the travellers who read this site, that's too bad. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:14, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Dear User:Magnificient Morocco, please raise the issue at talk:Marrakech. Just click on the link to talk:Marrakech and than click "add topic" on the top right of that page. Choose a suitable headline and explain why your tour should be listed. Thanks in advance and we hope to keep you as a productive contributor. Hobbitschuster (talk) 13:07, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for your help , Will I then go and put my listing under Do as discussed before or do I need to wait to be given the go ahead? This is the last question I promise, I just do not want to get it wrong againMagnificent Morocco (talk) 13:13, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I would say would first have to argue your case and than we will decide, whether your tour complies with our policy and constitutes value added. Also in the future if you see one of your edits reverted more than once, read the edit summaries carefully and raise the issue at the appropriate talk page before making the same change again. Best wishes Hobbitschuster (talk) 13:16, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Ok no problem I have added this onto the talk page and will await the verdict... thank you for your timeMagnificent Morocco (talk) 13:19, 10 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
