You're making good progress with Riga. Just wanted to express some appreciation! :-) (WT-en) Andyfarrell 17:52, 10 November 2009 (EST)

    Thanks. (WT-en) Rastapopulous 19:25, 10 November 2009 (EST)

    Page caching

    [edit]

The fact that you can't see the most recent edits on the pub is probably not so related to our current technical difficulties. We have for a long time had page caching issues, which you can almost always resolve by just refreshing your browser window. Occasionally I find you have to purge the page cache and then refresh your window again. You can purge the page cache via a link at the very bottom of the edit window. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 17:04, 18 November 2009 (EST)

Any chance you could help answer this question? --(WT-en) Peter Talk 21:02, 11 April 2010 (EDT)

    Automated map generation

    [edit]

I checked with Jani, and it looks like that process isn't maintained anymore. I would encourage you to look at Project:How_to_create_a_map#SVG imports from OSM (which is now inappropriately named, since I'm using it regularly in Linux...). It's a fair degree easier than you would expect, especially once you have already cut your teeth on one. Maybe try exporting an OSM SVG of just a small portion of downtown Riga, and then converting that in Inkscape to the standard Wikivoyage color scheme?

I'd be more than happy to help with any questions you run into, and I'm sure anyone else on the Wikivoyage:Regions Map Expedition would be as well! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 23:37, 18 April 2010 (EDT)

    Hanover, NH

    [edit]

Hi, and thanks for your edits!

If Hanover is needed in the list of cities for New Hampshire, which city should be taken off the list, since 9 is the maximum number of cities that can be listed? Please discuss at Talk:New Hampshire#Cities. Thanks.

    All the best,

    Account migration?

    [edit]

Hey, I presume you are the same person as this person? If you want to merge your old account contributions history into your new one here, please log in to WT and add a note to your userpage there that you edit under the same name on Wikimedia projects, and then let me know you are ready. --Peter Talk 05:28, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've now merged the accounts. Great to have you back! --Peter Talk 15:20, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

    Karakum

    [edit]

Hey, I'm pretty jealous of your trip ;) One thing that would be pretty helpful in the article would be a rough price range that tour companies charge to go to Darvaza. --Peter Talk 16:18, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Turns out most of the companies, Koryo aside (but that's for the whole country tour) aren't too transparent about their prices, at least online. Nonetheless, I've seriously updated said article and given it a body. Rastapopulous (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, that's why I'm interested—I haven't found the info online. If you could give just a very rough idea of what to expect in USD or Euro equivalents (I assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that you did go with a tour company), it would be really helpful information. --Peter Talk 21:48, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I did indeed go with a tour company but I went with Koryo on their Turkmenistan tour, and I have no idea whatsoever what the pricing would actually be. All I know is that they contracted with Ayan Travel, which is partly why I recommended them on the page itself. Rastapopulous (talk) 23:17, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ah, gotcha—it's not clear what the trip from Ashgabat alone would be. --Peter Talk 23:22, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
