English, please?
[edit]Hi, this is English-language Wikivoyage. Posting in your user page in Chinese won't work if you want many Wikivoyage users to understand anything. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:50, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- OK, I understand. Sunfish dash (talk) 02:58, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Can you check the experimental listings? Qingjing Farm and Swiss Garden have the same address but their latitude & longitude pins show that they are quite far apart. OhanaUnitedTalk page 23:20, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- I’ve fixed it. They are different attractions within QingJing Farm, which is why they share the same address on the official website, even though they do have different addresses. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Sunfish Dash (talk) 04:13, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm putting both as sub-bullets under the QingJing farm. OhanaUnitedTalk page 15:51, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
Japan vs KMT in Taiwan
[edit]Based on what I've heard in history podcasts, the colonial-era elites in Taiwan were largely loyal to Japan and had taken on Japanese names, which was why they got sidelined and even purged when the KMT took over. And the KMT instead brought over oligarchs from mainland China to run Taiwan. Is that wrong? The dog2 (talk) 16:51, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
- Some colonial-era elites in Taiwan were indeed loyal to Japan. However, the group led by Lin Hsien-t’ang—often referred to in English as the Taichung Clique—belonged to the Taiwanese self-governance camp.
- They were pugred because they threatened the authoritarian rule of the Kuomintang.
- The adoption of Japanese names was largely a consequence of Japan’s kōminka (imperialization) policies and, in many cases, a necessary measure to avoid imprisonment. It should not be taken as evidence of loyalty to Japan. Sunfish Dash (talk) 10:14, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- By the way, which history podcast did you listen to it from? Sunfish Dash (talk) 10:16, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- Here's one that's in Chinese: [1]. There's another one who I've listened to in English but he is a pro-China Taiwanese-American and identifies as a communist, so I don't know if that will be a bit sensitive for you. The dog2 (talk) 15:51, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
