Don't tout
[edit]Hello, ~2025-36288-58! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.
If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage. - Aren't you based in Philadelphia? Don't try to list in other cities. If you do, we'll have to block you now, after a second warning. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:21, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- You've been blocked accordingly, for an initial period of 3 days. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:28, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Ikan,
- I’ve made several unsuccessful attempts to list my company, Philadelphia Limousine, under Philadelphia and/or Allentown, PA. Both times the listing was removed. I’ve noticed that some of my competitors are listed on multiple pages. Could you let me know if there is a process for listing a local business on WikiTravel?
- Thanks,
- Yelena ~2025-36288-58 (talk) 15:50, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- I can't tell you anything about listing on Wikitravel, but I can't see why we want limousine listings on this site, and if you can point out where your competitors are listed, we can consider removing those listings, too. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:47, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Ikan,
- Thank you for your prompt response. I noticed that the Philadelphia, PA page highlights ride‑sharing services with direct links to Uber and Lyft, and the ‘By car’ section references Enterprise CarShare and Zipcar, even though those are not the most common ways to get around the city. What stands out is that the page does not mention local cab or limousine services—direct competitors to Uber and Lyft—which creates an incomplete picture of transportation options in Philly. Including references to local providers would make the page more balanced, fair, and helpful for travelers seeking a full range of choices.
- Regards,

- Post to Talk:Philadelphia and see if you can convince a consensus that limo companies should be listed. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:59, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
- I'll unblock you for that purpose, but don't list unless you get approval after a few days or a week or so of discussion. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:02, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
