    Brockton is the sixth largest city in Massachusetts with a population of 106,000 (2020). Self styled as the "City of Champions" thanks to its two hometown boxing heroes, and a thriving high school sports program.

    Logan International Airport (BOS IATA) in Boston is the closest airport. T.F. Green Airport in Warwick (Rhode Island) (PVD IATA) is also an option.

    By bus

    The MBTA operates the 230 bus to Montello Station from Quincy Center station. Brockton Area Transit Authority also operates a bus route to Ashmont station.

    MBTA has commuter rail service from Boston's South station with three stops in Brockton. Additionally, the seasonal CapeFlyer between Boston and Cape Cod calls at Brockton railway station.

    • 1 Fuller Craft Museum, 455 Oak St, +1 508 588-6000. Daily 10AM-5PM. One of the few museums in the US that focus solely on crafts.     • 2 Brockton Fire Museum, 216 North Pearl St. Exhibits the atmosphere and artifacts of a classic Brockton fire station during Victorian times. Features a beautifully restored 1850s Hand-Tub Pumper called "The Protector." Also a memorial dedicated to the memory of the 13 Brockton firemen who were killed in Brockton's Strand Theater disaster in 1941.

    Most, if not all, of Brockton's many shoe factories and outlets are now closed.

    • Westgate Mall, +1 508 588-8916. M-Sa 10AM-9PM, Su noon-6PM. Westgate Mall is 10 minutes away and is easy access off of route 24 north. Main stores: Best Buy, Macy's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Foot Action, Finishline, Lids, American Eagle, Pac Sun, and Gamestop.

    Brockton is not a destination for fine dining. Many of the national chain restaurants are available off exits from Route 24.

    • Cape Cod Cafe Pizza, 979 Main Street, +1 508 583-9420. 11AM - 10PM. This Greek restaurant has been serving gourmet pizzas since 1939. Cape Cod Cafe offers a large variety of options on its menu; all products are made fresh daily and contain nothing artificial. You cannot go wrong with one of their famous Greek salads or weekly specials. For example the lobster roll which is served every Friday. $9-12.
    • Italian Kitchen, 1071 Main Stret. A restaurant and a small market. Amazing Italian fare. Truly and sadly a very well kept secret. The best sauce you may ever taste. A local favorite for years and virtually unchanged since its inception.
    • Village Pizza and Subs, 830 Crescent Street (Rte. 27), +1 508-580-1920. M-Sat 10:30-10p Sunday 11-9p. Village Pizza offers a variety of specialty pizzas along with a large selection of subs, shish kebob, salads and pasta. Come early M-F (8:30-10:30AM)during the summer and receive a 30% discount on subs and salads. Mondays offer "Back to the 80s" pricing. Delivers.
