Joliette is a regional county municipality (RCM) in the administrative region of Lanaudière, in Quebec, in Canada. It comprises seven municipalities and three cities spread over an area of 418 square kilometers. Its capital is Joliette. The MRC of Joliette is a mecca of music in Quebec.

Recreational tourism activities represent a significant economic contribution to the MRC's territory; the latter contributes to the development of infrastructure and services intended for tourists.

• The Lanaudière Festival, full of music, is held annually in early August in Joliette and the surrounding area.

The Joliette RCM is an oasis of resorts, land-based sports (cycling, hiking), water sports, and cultural activities, as well as agritourism.

In the Joliette RCM, urban life is interdependent with the rural environment (agriculture and forestry) in the St. Lawrence Plain. Visitors to the Joliette RCM have various opportunities to connect with nature and with the offerings of recreational tourism providers.

This RCM stands out for its program of sports activities (organized sports, water sports), socio-cultural recreation, and public events. New recreational and tourism activities are developing in the Joliette RCM thanks to technology: visits to less accessible areas using drones, ATVs/snowmobiles, ultralight aircraft, and more. Furthermore, visitors are sharing images of their stay in the RCM on social media.

Through its tourism program, budget, and regional coordination resources, the RCM, along with its partners, helps organize, establish guidelines, and promote recreational and tourism infrastructure, services, and activities. Thus, in the Joliette RCM, visitors benefit from the following services/activities/infrastructure:

• outdoor activities on land: trails (hiking, cycling, snowmobiling/ATV, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing), river fishing, sports and outdoor recreation facilities, etc.;
• water sports on rivers and bodies of water: boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc.; * cultural: museums, religious heritage, audio-guided historical tours, guided tours, monuments/souvenir plaques, shows, exhibitions;
• excursions: by motorized vehicle, motorcycle, car, bicycle, ATV/snowmobile, etc.;
• sports or recreational facilities: arenas, snowsports centers, urban parks, community centers, etc.;
• accommodation: in cabins, motels/inns, hotels, private residences for short-term rentals, camping, saunas, spas, etc.;
• services: massage therapy, chiropractic, diets, babysitting, guide services, water sports training, treasure hunts, obstacle courses, etc.;
• shops/stores: souvenirs, convenience stores, hardware stores, etc.;
• food: meals at accommodations, restaurants, campsites, excursions/hikes, agritourism sites, etc.
