[edit]- God's Bridge is the second-biggest natural bridge in Europe, and the biggest in Romania, north of Târgu Jiu.
- Bistreț Lake east of Calafat is a reference site for the protection of migratory birds.
- Ciurumela Forest is a forest reserve representing an old acacia forest near Poiana Mare.
Museums

- In Oltenia there are numerous other captivating cule that were constructed by influential boyars of the region.
