Review request for Gimpo article

[edit]

Hello, I am a student working on this article for a class project ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimpo]).

I have tried to complete all sections based on the Manual of Style.

Could you please review it for any major errors, omissions, or tone issues? Any feedback is welcome.

Thank you! --Jy20920 (talk) 06:39, 24 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Jy20920: Hi! the article looks excellent. I have a couple requests:
  1. The section "Get around" is empty. Please add some information about traveling within the city. Is it best to travel by car? What public transit options, if any, are avaliable, such as buses or trams?
  2. The market's open days are contradictory. The listing says it is open on days ending in 2 and 7 (2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, and 27th) before stating it is open on the 2nd and 7th.
These are minor issues. Thanks for asking! --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 13:09, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Selfie City: Thank you so much for the excellent review and your quick feedback! I have addressed both of your requests:
1.  I have completed the '''Get around''' section, adding detailed information about the Gimpo Goldline, local buses, and taxis/rideshares.
2.  The contradiction in the market's open days has been resolved. The listing now clearly states that the market is held on the 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, and 27th of every month (days ending in 2 or 7).
I appreciate your help in improving the article!

Great, thanks! --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 18:31, 2 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Jy20920: thank you for the improvements you have made to this article. As your assignment page says: "Common error to avoid: you should add an address (street, building number, etc.) to your listing but do not repeat the city name. For example, if your listing is in Gimpo, the address does not need to contain the city name." That also means you do not include the province and country name. All of the listings in Gimpo are going to be in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, so we do not repeat that information. Please make these corrections. Thank you. I checked and found that there was a problem with the 'Eat' section, so I corrected the address. I didn't know there was a problem with the address, not the information I added. Thank you for letting me know! Jy20920 (talk) 04:54, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Which one of these is true?
"Gimpo International Airport (GMP) is on the southern edge of Gimpo city, but most of its direct connections are to Seoul. To reach Gimpo city from the airport, travelers should use local city buses or taxis. There is no direct train line into Gimpo city from the airport."
"Gimpo is well-connected to Seoul and Incheon via subway and railway services, with Gimpo International Airport acting as the main transit hub."
These are in the "By plane" and "By train" subsections of "Get in", and they seem to contradict each other. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:28, 24 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for pointing that out!
You are absolutely right—those statements were contradictory and outdated. I have updated both sections to clarify that the Gimpo Goldline now provides a direct and convenient rail connection from Gimpo International Airport to the city center. The incorrect information regarding the lack of a direct train line has been removed.
Thanks again for helping improve the article! Jy20920 (talk) 11:41, 24 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for making the edits! I also want to bring this edit summary to your attention in case you missed it. Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:54, 24 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Here are a few ways to improve this article:

  1. The first paragraph of an article should explain why a reader would want to visit a place. What makes it interesting?
  2. As your assignment page says: "In South Korea and China articles, we always use the 24-hour clock (09:00-18:00), not the 12-hour clock (9AM-5PM)."
  3. Always include the country code in phone numbers (+82 for South Korea, +86 for China). Phone numbers should not include the "0" part of the area code -- see wv:phone.Ground Zero (talk) 13:13, 24 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Jy20920: Also, please add the English-language address and coordinates for the Gimpo Post Office. I have converted it to a listing for you, but having those additional details would be helpful. --Comment by Selfie City (talk) (contributions) 17:04, 24 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
