Merger
[edit]There is nothing here. From the perspective of travellers, Jiribam is an extension of Manipur Hills. As WV:regions says:
- The point of the hierarchy is not to nitpick about geographical niceties, but to organize our work.
and
- Importantly, we only add a level of regions when there is too much content in the existing breakdown. As a result, the regional hierarchy at Wikivoyage doesn't always follow the official breakdown and frequently is much "flatter" than the official political or administrative breakdown.
We do not need a separate article for every district in India. That does not serve travellers. Wikivoyage is not an encyclopedia. Ground Zero (talk) 12:17, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Jiribam is geographically as well as politically not a part of Manipur hills. It is a plain region by nature, but not a part of the Imphal Valley, the largest plain of Manipur. Haoreima (talk) 14:54, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- That doesn't explain why there's enough separate content to require for it to have a separate article from a traveller's point of view. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:05, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Adding info under process! :-) Haoreima (talk) 17:51, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- How many cities and other destinations merit articles in this region? Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:03, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Inside Jiribam region? Haoreima (talk) 18:23, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Where else would we be discussing? Your question suggests an answer that would further support the idea that this region might not merit its own article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 18:54, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
- Responding to your previous question about the number of cities and other destinations, Jiribam is a small city, a district having numerous villages and smaller towns, and an assembly constituency by its own. I know this fact doesn't justify its merit to be an independent article until sufficient info is added into the article and I will try to add so. @Sbb1413 being the creator of this page, I would like you to hear from you too! :) Haoreima (talk) 07:01, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- And also if possible, please help me in expansion of the sections. I have already added names of some places and the list of things to see/do, etc. Haoreima (talk) 07:04, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't even know the place existed until like 2 days ago, so I'm not going to be able to help you expand the article. I think you need to decide what this article is about - the city or a district. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:50, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
