- Isn't asperges a misspelling for Asperger's? See w:Asperger syndrome. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:13, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, it is a spelling mistake. I've moved the article and copy-edited the spelling. Thanks for starting this Djm-leighpark; it's definitely a good idea! I would love to help make this autism friendly, but don't know what that involves beyond what you've stated already. Do you have any other ideas? --ThunderingTyphoons! - Thanks everyone for the spelling correction ... I thought I'd taken care to copy/paste that ... evidently not enough. I actually came to think of this article when ThunderingTyphoons corrected my entry for toots at Malahide and I noticed one he had contributed to 'Travelling with a mental health condition'. I immediately thought 'help at airports' and 'use of picture stories'. Anyway I went bold and started this article. In writing it I became aware of how much good advice 'Travelling with a mental health condition' has. 'Cope' and 'Preparation' really stood out. But I'm reasonable sure for this article 'Cope' would someone need to be rewritten into simple easy to remember ways to avoid stressor situations and to be able to bring to mind a cope strategy if a stress situation arises. And advice needs to be in no more than 3 simple bulletpoints. Relevant pictures may help. I am mulling on an 'Advice for travelling companions' section ... I think that would work quote nicely. I am thinking of the equivalent of 'Cope' would be a section 'Stressful situations' with subheadings of 'Avoidance' and 'Coping' ... in each case short prose followed by 3 bullet points.Djm-leighpark (talk) 22:09, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Congrats
[edit]I was looking through the “recent changes” page and I happened to come across this page. As someone who struggles with Asperger’s myself, this is one page on this Guide I could actually use. This is why I joined this site. Finding this place where I could not only learn, but use my writing skills to help others, has been truly a lifesaver. -Vulcandor

- @User:Vulcandor, Thanks for chiming in. I am also interested in advice to aspies. Too bad the associated page has been deleted. Cheers, Ottawahitech (talk) 14:51, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
