Hi. If you are the same user as User:74.96.153.48, please read User talk:74.96.153.48 and note my edit summary at this link. We want to include relevant information wherever it's helpful, but please keep in mind that it's often true that less is more. Thanks very much. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:21, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, 2600:4040:2A94:4000:19BB:2A55:E762:F435! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.
If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage.

Hello, 2600:4040:2A94:4000:399E:F22F:B9DA:8AE4! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikivoyage:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
By the way, have you considered creating an account here? While you can absolutely keep contributing as an anonymous user, it promises a bunch of benefits, and no obligations.
Also, please look at Wikivoyage:Don't tout, not because you're being accused of advertising but for advice on tone (for example, hotel listings should not include language like "Conveniently located to one of Bogota's major financial centers, the Metropolitan Simon Bolivar park, the Bogota Botanical Garden, and the Agora and Corferias event center."), and also please note that URLs should be only as long as necessary.
Thanks again, all the best, and let us know if you have any questions.

Please have a look at this edit summary. I fear that the Bogotá article is too wordy and will tire readers too much. The entire purpose of having district articles is to help avoid having too much black text in the article that provides an overview of the entire city.
Please feel free to start a thread at Talk:Bogotá if you feel that it's really important to include all the text you added, in addition to the rather wordy descriptions in Bogotá#Districts, which I frankly think are too long and really should be brief summaries with just the highest highlights.
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:54, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you Ikak Kekek. Yes, I do see your point, and I understand why you shortoned the descriptions for the districts. I agree with the fact that it was a bit wordy, and needed to be shortoned, so thank you. As long as the information that was removed from the descriptions, is still in the separate articles, then I think that is perfect. Although I did want to ask one thing, for the introduction, I did feel that it was a good lenght, could some of the things that were deleted from the intro be added again?
- Thank you and take care, 2600:4040:2A94:4000:E577:A617:157A:7699 17:01, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry I meant to say shortened not shortonod....lol. 2600:4040:2A94:4000:E577:A617:157A:7699 17:01, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- I restored some of the details that I had added to the intro, and removed some, such as "is a city you should visit before you die", as this could have been left out of the intro. If you believe the introduction is still to long, please remove some of the details that you consider to be redundant, however I kindly ask you to try not to change the intro to much, as it can take away some necessary details for visitors...I am glad to work with you to improve the article and thank you very much for your help with the districts! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any comments or questions.

- My feeling is that the lede of any article should attract the reader and make them want to read more. Why do you think it's important to include all those details in the lede? I suggest for you to talk about it at Talk:Bogotá#Verbosity, since at least three other editors disagree with your approach. Wikivoyage, like all wikis, works by consensus. You need to convince us that readers need to slog through all those details at the very beginning of the article, and that they then will want to read further. Could you please stop edit warring and try to convince a consensus at Talk:Bogotá#Verbosity that a verbose lede is best? I'm afraid we are going to have to block you and all of your other IPs and, if necessary, edit-protect the article if you continue edit-warring. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:17, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

I now mostly reverted your edit to the lead. Please see Bogotá#Verbosity and User talk:LPfi#Thank you for your help with the Bogota article. I think the discussion should be at the former, the article's talk page. Having it here, at an IPv6 user talk page, is not useful. –LPfi (talk) 07:37, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
