    Hello Baap8969! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Thanks for your edit to the Bihar guide, but we restrict the "Cities" sections of states that are covered by region articles on Wikivoyage to no more than 9, and we definitely don't want to have red-linked city names in that section. See 7+2 for further details, please let us know if you have any questions, and carry on!

    All the best,

Thank you, if I will any doubt than ask you Baap8969 (talk) 21:00, 21 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. About the Rajnagar article you started: Please try to make it Wikivoyage:Style. Compare it to any article in Category:Star articles. To take some examples of city articles of cities not covered by district (neighbourhood) articles on this site: Albuquerque, Ann Arbor, Hiroshima, Okayama, Uppsala. None of them have colored boxes around sections, and none of them have a "Why Visit?" subsection with a numbered list, nor a "Tips" section. Instead, could you please use the Wikivoyage:Small city article template? Copy the Wikivoyage:Quick small city article template and insert the sections you are not yet using into the article, then edit the article accordingly to conform to Wikivoyage style as much as possible. The rest of us will be happy to help you once you've put some effort into this, and thanks very much in advance! Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:16, 23 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

What does and does not get an article on this site

    [edit]

Hi. Please read Wikivoyage:What is an article? A palace that can be easily covered in a listing in Datia#See does not get its own article on this site. I merged a few facts specifically about the palace into its listing and then turned your non-article into a redirect. Thanks.

If you want to add information about getting into Datia, put it in Datia#Get in, and if you want to add information about the best times of year to visit Datia, put that in Datia#Understand. Etc.

    Best,

    Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:51, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

    Please use proper article templates!

    [edit]

User:Baap8969: I just looked at the Ziro Valley article you started. It is orphaned, outside the Wikivoyage:Breadcrumb navigation hierarchy, as is the Rajnagar article, and you did not use any Wikivoyage article template! Could you please fix the Rajnagar article and now this one before you start any others? Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:25, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Also, don't add categories at the ends of articles. This site is different from Wikipedia. Please read the links I gave you in the first post on this page! Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:49, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
