[edit]Hi, Doostdar. Please have a look at this revision edit summary. I don't know Farsi specifically, but my experience is that languages with Arabic scripts usually don't vary their spellings. For example, I only remember seeing the name Muhammad spelled one way in Arabic, although there are numerous spellings in Roman lettering. But perhaps I misunderstood what you meant to say.

- @Ikan Kekek: Hi, place names in Afghanistan are not constant. Some cities have changed their names from Pashtu into Persian and vice versa. The letter Q is sometimes pronounced K by English settlers in Afghanistan and as a result the Persian name for that place will change. I think spelling variations in places' names are to some extent complicated and can not be explained in Wikivoyage. --Doostdar (talk) 06:50, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
