To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. —CURTAINTOAD!— 06:47, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Note: Your username may be a violation that represents a group, organization or website: [1]. —CURTAINTOAD!— 06:55, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, I am afraid I did not understand. Do you mean that I might violating the trademark of that organization (which is not the case, since I am the owner) or that it is forbidden to register with such a name here on Wikivoyage? If that were the case, how may I change the username?
- You can simply create new account that does not represent a "group", "organization", or "website" if you wish, or you can request username change through Wikivoyage:Requests for username change. Thanks, —CURTAINTOAD!— 07:24, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Curtaintoad, please point to the policy that the username is in violation of. I'd like to see it. To my knowledge, there is no such policy. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:13, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- That's an English Wikipedia rule; that's not a rule here. What is a rule is Wikivoyage:Touting, regarding advertising and promotion. --Rschen7754 08:36, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Then I'd rather keep this username - I do not want to hide my affiliation with this particular site. I did not register in order to Tout but to bring about awareness about the kind of service we offer (minicabs) because it can be useful and is relevant to the "Get In" section of some sites. I will not post, unless agreed on the Talk page of each article and unless relevant and useful to readers post links to my website - just hint that such kind of service exists and the prices of that. Sometimes it is cheaper than other transportation methods (for big groups it is especially cheap).
- Okay. Wikivoyage:Welcome, business owners also provides some additional advice that may be helpful. --Rschen7754 09:30, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Alright, fair enough. Let's keep this username here. —CURTAINTOAD!— 11:16, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

My attitude is that I positively like the transparency that such a user name brings to every edit you will make and saves having to declare an interest each time you make an edit. Good on yer! -- Alice✉ 12:40, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
