Welcome to Wikivoyage, but please read Wikivoyage:External links#What not to link to and stop edit warring. If you don't, we'll have to temporarily block your editing privileges to get your attention. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:43, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Done, blocked for an initial period of 3 days. Read Wikivoyage:Don't tout, too. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:05, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I misread the day when your first edit was made. No block for now, but read the links I gave you and don't edit war. Ikan Kekek (talk) 11:07, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dear Ikan Kekek,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the earlier edits and the misunderstanding of the 'edit warring' policy. As a new contributor, I am still learning the community guidelines regarding external links.
My intention was not to 'tout,' but to provide travelers with a high-precision, real-time meteorological tool. WFY24 offers hyper-local weather data that can be crucial for travelers planning outdoor activities in specific European cities.
We are a new project and our goal is to offer accurate, free information to the public. I would appreciate any guidance on how to properly suggest a resource like this without violating the community's standards. I will refrain from further edits on those sections until I have fully reviewed the 'Don't tout' guidelines as you suggested.
Thank you for your patience and for your work in keeping Wikivoyage a reliable resource. Ioannawfy24 (talk) 12:09, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't see how you can list yourself under Wikivoyage policies. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:20, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the reply. I understand the concern. Our project, WFY24, is designed as a public-service weather intelligence platform that provides hyper-local, real-time data for over 4 million locations.
Unlike many commercial weather sites, we focus on high-precision route intelligence which is specifically helpful for travelers navigating European cities during unpredictable weather. Our goal is to provide a reliable, free resource that adds genuine value to the community’s travel guides.
I would appreciate it if you could take a look at the data precision we offer. If it still doesn't meet the current external link criteria, I will respect your decision and won't add it. We just want to be helpful to the Wikivoyage audience. Ioannawfy24 (talk) 12:23, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please read the links we've given you. If you'd like to argue for an exception to Wikivoyage guidelines, where exactly would it be appropriate for you to post a link or listing? Because you surely would not be permitted to post links everywhere under any circumstances. Also, note that this is not a private website I have control over; I merely enforce policies agreed upon by consensus a long time ago. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:30, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate your guidance. I am certainly not looking to post links everywhere.
I believe a listing would be most appropriate strictly within the 'Stay safe' or 'Climate' sections of major travel hubs (like Vienna or London), where accurate, real-time weather intelligence directly impacts traveler safety and itinerary planning.
I would only propose it for pages where hyper-local data adds a layer of precision that general forecasts lack. I am happy to submit a draft for your review on a single page first, to ensure it meets the consensus-based standards you mentioned. Ioannawfy24 (talk) 12:33, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I've posted at Wikivoyage:Travellers'_pub#Weather_info trying to start a more general discussion. Pashley (talk) 14:58, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
