Quick fix

[edit]

I hope this minor edit is OK. -- 89.241.66.102 07:55, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

There are additional duplicate parameters. The "group" parameter is duplicated (as "group=OV" and "group=map1") in each location:
<small><pre class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed">{{Mapshape|group=OV|type=geoshape|wikidata= ... ... ... |group=map1|fill={{StdColor| ... }}|title= ... }}</ pre></small>

Not a problem at all! It's an old page that should probably just be deleted, but thank you for spotting these. Wauteurz (talk) 15:52, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
No need to delete the page. It's a nice example that shows how the code works, and no longer generates any entries in error categories. -- 89.241.66.102 16:37, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Template error

[edit]

The output of {{Bottomboxes}} seems to be broken. See User:Seagull123 where the third set of parameters appear as code when undefined. Presumably it needs the same fix as the second set of parameters. -- 92.21.137.132 06:27, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Done. As a reminder to myself: I spotted a way to further simplify that template, and for completion the template needs documentation, however simple it might be. Wauteurz (talk) 11:54, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks. Good job. -- 92.21.137.132 13:11, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Main Page

[edit]

As requested: I am viewing this in Firefox. Appearance settings: Vector legacy (2010)

Thank you! I'll have a poke around with the template tonight. Wauteurz (talk) 14:46, 4 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Mrkstvns: Unfortunately, I can't do a hell of a lot to resolve this, but I have done what I could. I raised the z-index of the links at the bottom, so they should now appear on top of the Tourist Office link. Better to have one link inaccessible than four. I also set the margin of the heading ("Welcome to Wikivoyage") to be significantly less, decreasing the likelihood of the two elements z-fighting, which is what caused this issue.
I have to work around the text auto-resizer though, which is difficult. I think that this is the best fix I can produce right now. If any of these changes don't appear on the Main Page within a day, let me know, and I'll tweak the CSS for the Vector skin specifically.

Temporary account IP viewer

[edit]

Hello, Wauteurz.

A recent change now means that all IP addresses are no longer visible to most ordinary users. However, as per WMF policy, any user who has made at least 300 edits with an account older than 6 months may request the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) permission to view IP addresses of all temporary accounts for up to 90 days. You are receiving this mass message because your account is autopatrolled, or has patroller and/or template editor permissions, and have over 300 edits, and thus are likely eligible to request this permission.

Guidelines surrounding the use of the tool can be found at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer; if granted, you must also accept the WMF policy in your preferences.

TAIV permissions can be requested at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer/Requests, or on any admin's talk page.

Hi, I don't know why, but some of your banners (e.g. Gstaad, User:Wauteurz, etc.) are not visible with the browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) of my working laptop.

This device sometimes preclude to view certain site because of firewall setting, but here the situation is strange because we are talking of images.

Any idea?

PS obviously all the other banners are visibile and all the browsers of all my other devices, show your banners correctly. Andyrom75 (talk) 08:09, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Andyrom75 That's very peculiar. I would have guessed that maybe the firewall blocks a specific directory of Commons, but both banners (Gstaad and Les Arcs, my current banner) are on different directories (4/4d and 2/2f). If that were the case, you should also have other images missing here and there though. I can't make sense of it either.
Wauteurz (talk) 17:40, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
This morning, after I wrote you, I've noticed other missing images (very few). No idea on the rational. Tonight it seems that the normal behavior has been restored. It remains a mistery... :-) Btw, sorry for bothering you :-) Andyrom75 (talk) 17:48, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's not a problem, don't worry about it :)
