Why is archiver bot not working?
[edit]It hasn't been archiving my talk page for months now. Any reason to this? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:12, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- @SHB2000: It looks like the archive page is protected. Only template editors and administrators can edit User talk:SHB2000/Archive 2021, [1] and ArchiverBot is not one. --Whym (talk) 11:50, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- I made ArchiverBot a template editor a while ago, but maybe it's because ArchiverBot isn't an autoconfirmed user? (if then, a 'crat would need to assign the flag) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:53, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
- You are right, the bot had the necessary user rights since earlier this month. What was missing was specifying protected edits as one of allowed action types at Special:OAuthConsumerRegistration. It is an additional layer of preventing unintended bot edits. I have now updated the registration and it seems it works now. Whym (talk) 10:19, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
