Camalig Church

Camalig is a landlocked municipality in Albay nearest to Mayon Volcano and features a scenic landscapes and countryside.

For tourism and cultural purposes, Camalig is named by the Provincial Government of Albay as "The Heritage Town" last June 10, 2014 due to its rich Spanish colonial history, well-preserved ancestral homes, significant landmarks like the St. John the Baptist Parish Church (an Important Cultural Property), and traditional culinary delights such as Pinangat. It served as an early mission outpost, boasting colonial architecture and a heritage tour, "El Pueblo Viejo," to showcase its cultural depth and natural attractions.
