Northeast Tyrol is in Tyrol, Austria. It includes Kitzbühel, Kufstein, and Schwaz districts.

  Kitzbühel (Kitzbühel, Fieberbrunn, Hopfgarten im Brixental, St. Johann in Tirol)
Very touristic with no high mountains. World famous is the capital Kitzbühel. Mountain ranges within the district include the Kitzbühel Alps, the Loferer Steinberge and the Kaisergebirge.
  Kufstein (Kufstein, Alpbach, Brixlegg, Wörgl; Ellmau)
The district comprises the lower part of the Inn valley as far as the Bavarian border, the Alpbach valley, the Brandenberg valley, Wildschönau and Thiersee. Mountain are not as high as in the western part of Tyrol. Mountain ranges within the district include the Brandenberg Alps, Kitzbühel Alps, and the Kaisergebirge. The largest lakes are the Reintal lakes, Thiersee, Hechtsee, Hintersteiner See and Walchsee.
  Schwaz (Schwaz, Achenkirch, Jenbach, Maurach, Mayrhofen, Pertisau, Steinberg am Rofan, Eng)
The district comprises a part of the lower Inn valley, the complete Zillertal valley with its tributary valleys and the Achental valley with the Achensee. Mountain ranges within the district include the Tux Alps, Zillertal Alps, Kitzbühel Alps, the Karwendel and the Rofan.

Kitzbühel

  • 2 Fieberbrunn – a venue for international snowboarding events; in the summer there is hiking and mountaineering

  • 4 St. Johann in Tirol – a well-developed ski centre in the winter season and also a summer tourist resort

Kufstein

  • 7 Alpbach – a ski resort village with 109 km of slopes, known for its authentic wooden houses

  • 9 Ellmau – travel to the top of Hartkaiser mountain via the Hartkaiserbahn funicular

  • 12 Achenkirch Achenkirch on Wikipedia – the largest town in the Achen Valley and popular ski resort in winter with extensive ski infrastructure. It sits at the border with Bavaria
  • 13 Hintertux – on the beautiful Hintertuxer Gletscher, skiing is possible 365 days a year

  • 16 Mayrhofen – the main base for skiing on the slopes of the Ziller Valley
  • 17 Pertisau Pertisau on Wikipedia – has two main winter ski areas: the Planberg Wiesenlifte, which has one easy trail, and the Karwendel Bergbahn, which has eight easy and eight intermediate trails; he town also has paragliding, kite-surfing, mountain biking, rafting, and diving, hiking, sailing, and cycling activities
  • 18 Steinberg am Rofan Steinberg am Rofan on Wikipedia – a small town deep in the Rofan mountain range
  • 19 Fügen – has two ski areas — Hochfügen-Hochzillertal and Spieljoch — and the Zillertal thermal baths.
