Questions
[edit]I think this could now be promoted Usable->Guide, but as the main author I'm reluctant to do that myself. If it were promoted, would it then be a good candidate for FTT? Or is it, as I'm inclined to think, too narrow a topic?
Coconut juice is popular in the Philippines. Is that something we should mention here? Do other places have drinks worth mentioning?
I've seen articles (including Travellers'_diarrhea#Eat) warning diarrhea patients off dairy products. Is that valid advice? Does it apply to the more general case of dehydration? Are there exceptions (e.g. I have also seen yoghurt recommended for diarrhea patients.)? Pashley (talk) 23:08, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- No need to avoid dairy in gastro[1] at least in kids. Unless it makes them worse.
- Coconut water is often a reasonable option, especially if no clean water is available. Might need a little extra salt in cholera cases.[2]

- Thanks. I've added coconut water, but am not sure what, if anything, should be said about dairy. Pashley (talk) 14:55, 4 February 2025 (UTC)
- Haven't read the article yet but I definitely think there's FTT potential for an article like this. --SHB (t | c | m) 03:57, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Banner
[edit]

This article currently uses the same banner as Water. I think using the same banner for two articles may be against policy, it is certainly not our usual practice, & I do not much like that banner anyway.
Can someone please come up with something better? Pashley (talk) 04:33, 5 October 2025 (UTC)
- I have created three alternatives, but this is not an easy topic to create a banner for, so I may not have hit the right mark. Are any of these suitable, or are there any alternatives? AlasdairW (talk) 19:45, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! I like the emergency drinking water best. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:45, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks indeed. Either #2 or #3 seem fine to me. Pashley (talk) 23:07, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- I think 3 is my favorite, followed by 1 and then 2. //shb (t | c | m) 23:31, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- I think 1 or 2 is okay. I don't like 3, because I find the words confusing and distracting – with that banner in place, the words "emergency drinking water" are more prominent than the actual title of the article. —Granger (talk · contribs) 00:21, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
