[edit]
- First question: Is any of this article copied and pasted or word-for-word machine translated from another site? What in the World is this? "Yesterday's performance of the Donghai Island Human Dragon Dance involved 188 local adults and children." Yesterday's?
- Did you add the hotel listings? The format is totally wrong. I'd say the same about "Go next" and just generally. Please read Wikivoyage:Small city article template and Wikivoyage:Listings and look at any city article in Category:Star articles or Category:Guide articles to see how it looks.
- And you tried deleting "IsPartOf", which is essential for the Wikivoyage:Breadcrumb navigation fundamental to the organization of this site. Unfortunately, this article is in really bad shape. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:58, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Donghai island needs more listings - surely there are more things to see there? The 'do' section should discuss local festivals. The history section is too long. The current content of the do section is just a too long description of 'Donghai Island Human Dragon Dance' - rewrite it to be shorter, removing duplicate references, it and write where and when can tourists actually see it. Also, the 'Yesterday's performance' as noted above is very weird - where did you copy that from? Finally, some pictures you added are obviously copyright violation (copied from the web) and will be deleted. Please do not add stolen images here. Piotrus (talk) 13:28, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

- Did you also make the changes I asked for on your user talk page? Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:25, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I have replied to you. Please check. Sephyy (talk) 04:47, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- You all can read User talk:Sephyy for more discussion. The correct answer to my question was and still at the time of writing is "No." Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:56, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have now reviewed all the bold sections in the article and made corrections. Sephyy (talk) 09:56, 24 December 2024 (UTC)

This article desperately needs copy editing, but let's resolve a basic question first. What does this, at the beginning of the lede, mean?
Donghai Island (东海岛) , located in the southeastern sea area of Zhanjiang City...
Should we be thinking of merging it with the Zhanjiang article? Zhanjiang#Go next says "Donghai Island, the fourth largest island in China, is about 1½ hours drive from Zhanjiang and is popular for its beaches." Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:08, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Ikan Kekek: I think the term "City" in "Zhanjiang City" refers to an administrative division of China, which is often larger than the corresponding urban area. For example, Chongqing (municipality) is a "City", even though it is larger than the Chongqing urban area. It is somewhat similar to "municipality" or "municipal corporation" in India, although in India a municipality or a municipal corporation is often smaller than the corresponding urban area. - No, there is too much information here to merge it into Zhanjiang. The two articles should be separate, but properly cross-referenced. Ground Zero (talk) 18:00, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Ground Zero: I agree, and I think we should prohibit users to use "City" to mean an administrative division in China, as it is way larger than the actual urban area. Sbb1413 (he) (talk • contribs) 18:02, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, everyone. So, having resolved that, we can get around to dealing with the very troubled prose in this article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:11, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

- I just realized, I forgot to credit w:Donghai Bridge for the figure on its length and so forth, so this is my credit to the Wikipedia article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:32, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
