Please show prices in this format: FRw 100 and not RF100, R₣100, or RWF100.

Please use American spelling (color, labor, traveled, realize, center, analog, program).

How about changing the banner? Jjtkk (talk) 15:59, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sure. The new banner is much more vivid. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:00, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

    names of cities

    [edit]

The article states "Rubavu, formerly Gisenyi" but Rubavu appears to be the name of the district that Gisenyi is in. Can someone point to an article that shows that the name of the city has changed? --Traveler100 (talk) 10:28, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

    Merge all regions?

    [edit]

Given that the region articles are in a pitiful state and there aren't all that many city articles in Rwanda to begin with, should the region articles be merged here for the time being and (perhaps other) regions be created when needed? Hobbitschuster (talk) 12:34, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

    I agree. Ground Zero (talk) 16:50, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Anybody else wish to weigh in? Hobbitschuster (talk) 21:45, 20 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've never been to Rwanda, but this seems like a good idea to me. It's a pretty small country by area and doesn't have many city articles right now. —Granger (talk · contribs) 19:40, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Per all of the above, let's ditch the regions and place the bottom level articles directly under Rwanda. ϒpsilon (talk) 20:42, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I went ahead and did it. Now we have to reconcile the city list. Hobbitschuster (talk) 23:17, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

    Reasoning on Commons:
"We have no information about Rwanda's copyright rules regarding banknotes (Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Rwanda). According to the rule Commons:Currency we have assume that these images arn't free (Commons:Currency#Map)."
With no information even suggesting there's a copyright problem, I'd suggest we upload this locally. Any objection? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:45, 19 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, agreed. It would be a shame to lose it. Davidbstanley (talk) 16:25, 20 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

    Telephone numbers

    [edit]

We should have some info on telephone numbers be added to Rwanda#Phone. I edited according to my understanding, but the info in w:Telephone numbers in Rwanda is confusing (as of July 2024). Please check.

The country code is +250, but in what format are numbers told locally and how do you get them into an international form? Is the "+250" just dropped when dialling domestically?

    • +250 250 5xx xxx? (landline with former area code 5)
    • +250 255 5xx xxx? (ditto)
    • +250 783 xxx xxx? (mobile phone, former prefix 03)
    • +250 788 xxx xxx? (mobile phone, former prefix 08)
    • +250 06 xxx xxx? (satellite phone)

Do call prices vary? What prefixes should you watch out for?

Numbers seem to be given with a leading zero, replacing the "+250". Is that correct for calling domestically and universal practice? –LPfi (talk) 11:06, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is common practice in most countries (not all though). We do that in the UK. Davidbstanley (talk) 19:31, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, here in Finland also, but as you note, not in all countries. It isn't told in the Wikipedia article, nor here. If it is how it's done, we should tell that. –LPfi (talk) 20:36, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
