    Hello, Argos'Dad! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.AHeneen (talk) 01:18, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to add my welcome as well - your name has shown up a lot in Special:RecentChanges, and you've made some excellent edits to the Provincetown article. Thanks for contributing! -- Ryan • (talk) • 17:40, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Ryan. I am a long-time Wikipedia editor and love the style, tone and focus of Wikivoyage! Look forward to seeing your contributions, too. Argos'Dad (talk) 17:44, 6 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks for your contributions! Right now, our policy toward inline Wikipedia links is not flexible. Please read xl. If you want Wikivoyage to agree to inline Wikipedia links, please make an argument at Wikivoyage_talk:Listings#Links_to_Wikipedia.23Different_subject or Wikivoyage_talk:External_links#Inline_links_to_Wikipedia after reading those threads. Thanks a lot. All the best, Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:11, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Ikan for pointing me at the discussion. I hope we can sort this out before the Wikipedia editors who were recruited to come edit here bug out and go back to the Big Wiki.Argos'Dad (talk) 04:28, 7 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Certainly. Sorry for messing up the link to xl in my first editing summary. I'm a bit skeptical about lots of Wikipedia links, though. The main proposal was to change the policy from one per article to one per listing, but what I'm seeing is Wikipedia links being inserted throughout articles, so as to make Wikivoyage not a sister site to Wikipedia but a de facto extension thereof, as if Wikivoyage articles are really Wikipedia articles. Anyway, this issue will continue to be hashed out in that talk page unless a consensus is reached.
