To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
Thanks for your contributions to the Jiangyin article! There are some issues, though: Most seriously, almost none of the listings in that article is Wikivoyage-style at all, with the biggest problem being that without location and, at least for hotels, contact information and URLs, listings are useless! Please look at Wikivoyage:Listings. Another issue is that you created a "Districts" subsection, but you do not tell the reader where many of the districts are, so how is that useful? You also provide Pinyin + tones for the district names, but Chinese characters are much more useful for visitors who want to recognize the district names in Chinese; of course you could provide both characters and Pinyin. Either way, make sure you use a space before every open parenthesis. Also look at Wikivoyage:Capitalization. Headings use sentence case, not title case on this site, so "Shared bicycles," not "Shared Bicycles." Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:54, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hold it: Jiangyin is part of Wuxi! It's not OK to start district articles without a discussion on the city's talk page - in this case, Talk:Wuxi - that comes to a consensus about how to divide the entire city. And since the Wuxi article is in no way overwhelmingly long, Jiangyin needs to be merged and redirected to Wuxi. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:38, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- Never mind about that. See Talk:Jiangyin. Your participation in the discussion would be welcome! Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:37, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
