Esquina
[edit]Continuing thanks for all your edits to articles about places in Paraguay!
I'm wondering about using the word "esquina" in addresses. If it's used in street signs, that's great and helps visitors find places. Otherwise, shouldn't we use the English words "corner of", instead? What do you think? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:27, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- I've just used local terminology, or what a traveller will find useful when asking for directions. "Corner of" or "and" would be right as an international address terminology. What should be used in Wikivoyage?
- I definitely get your point. The issue is that some readers may not understand what "esquina" means (they'd better learn! but that's another story, and might be better addressed in Spanish phrasebook). Percentage of Mennonites in Filadelfia
[edit]Hello, Cmasi, and thanks for correcting my misunderstanding on the number of hospitals and supermarkets there. The second paragraph of the "Understand" section of that article states that "The Mennonites comprise 30% of the population". If that's true, it could either make them a plurality or simply a minority, but it couldn't make them the majority. Does that make sense? Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:50, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Creation of regions
[edit]Do not want to stop you creating useful information but please be aware that Wikivoyage is not a classification encyclopedia and there is no need to create regions for every government district. Regions should reflect useful areas for visitors and should be created when there are a good number of city articles for that region. Temporary account IP viewer

A recent change now means that all IP addresses are no longer visible to most ordinary users. However, as per WMF policy, any user who has made at least 300 edits with an account older than 6 months may request the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) permission to view IP addresses of all temporary accounts for up to 90 days. You are receiving this mass message because your account is autopatrolled, or has patroller and/or template editor permissions, and have over 300 edits, and thus are likely eligible to request this permission.
Guidelines surrounding the use of the tool can be found at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer; if granted, you must also accept the WMF policy in your preferences.
TAIV permissions can be requested at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer/Requests, or on any admin's talk page.
