Welcome, but avoid copying and pasting or using encyclopedic language
[edit]Hello Hong Da Hyeon! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!
Taking a look at these edits, the ones about the train station are highly encyclopedic. Could you please give just the information that's useful to travelers? No-one will care about this kind of stuff:
"It was established to improve the transportation network in response to the construction of the Innovation City and the influx of population, as well as to provide better access to the industrial complexes in Gimcheon and Gumi. The station opened on November 1, 2010, together with the launch of the second phase of the Gyeongbu High-Speed Railway."
You also spend way too much time talking about the name. Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:00, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to this article. It is incorrect to use markers in city articles. Listings templates should be used in a city article -- not markers. Listing templates organize the information better for readers. Markers are used in region articles to indicate cities and parks in the region, which do not change. Please correct your errors. Thank you. Ground Zero (talk) 13:10, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your review. I’ve made the revisions as suggested. Please take a look when you have a chance. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 02:11, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Why did you remove street addresses for listings? Those are useful for travellers. Also, each listing should have a "lastedit" field that tells readers how current the information is. (It also helps Wikivoyage contributors know when to update the information.) Please restore these fields to the listings. Other fields in the templates, like url, address, directions, phone, and hours, should be kept, even if they are left blank for now. Other contributors may add this information later. Ground Zero (talk) 18:50, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- I have implemented the revisions as per your suggestion, though I am not certain if they were done correctly. I would greatly appreciate it if you could kindly review and confirm. Thank you very much for your assistance. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 01:28, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- The Drink section is still missing address information.
- And as your assignment page says: "Common error to avoid: you should add an address (street, building number, etc.) to your listing but do not repeat the city name. For example, if your listing is in Ansan, the address does not need to contain the city name." Ground Zero (talk) 13:35, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- I’ve made the revisions, so please check it once more. Thank you. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 05:56, 20 October 2025 (UTC)
- Why did you add "Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do" to the addresses? The article is about Gumi, so this is obvious. Please read your assignment page again. Ground Zero (talk) 13:22, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
- I have completed the revisions as you mentioned. Thank you. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 15:11, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

The same errors, again, in other articles
[edit]As your assignment page says: "Common error to avoid: you should add an address (street, building number, etc.) to your listing but do not repeat the city name. For example, if your listing is in Ansan, the address does not need to contain the city name."
I have removed these edits and and these edits for the same reason. You can restore them if you correct your mistakes. Ground Zero (talk) 13:53, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
@Hong Da Hyeon: stop making this error. Ground Zero (talk) 13:58, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
You must correct your errors, or I will remove all of your edits, and block you from editing. Ground Zero (talk) 14:34, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- The most recent eat section did not repeat the address, so I don’t understand why it was deleted. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 14:45, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Are you referring to these edits? You included "Yilan City, Yilan County" in the addresses, and you wrote directions as if they were separate sentences, instead as part of the sentences.
- All of the contributors here are volunteers. It is not our job to correct your errors. If your class is going to use Wikivoyage as a learning tool, you must respect Wikivoyage rules and style. If you don't, I will block you from editing. Ground Zero (talk) 14:49, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Ground Zero Understood. I will revise it accordingly. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 16:23, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Please fix the issues. Just restoring your edit without fixing them can lead to your account being blocked. You should "retore the content after fixing the issues", not just "restore the content". Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 05:53, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Ground Zero Understood. I will revise it accordingly. Hong Da Hyeon (talk) 16:23, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
