Welcome, and what's useful information for travelers
[edit]Hello IfyClassique! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.
If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:
- NPOV → be fair (not quite the same thing!)
- be bold → plunge forward
- Village pump → travellers' pub
- External links → We do not use a separate external links section, but incorporate primary links only into the text itself.
- sandbox → graffiti wall
- stub tagging → article status
It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!
Thanks for adding content, but mere names of churches are useless without at least location information. Please use WV:Listings templates. Add information you know or can find out, as relevant, but don't delete any fields you leave blank.
About primary and elementary schools, though, how are they interesting to look at and why should they be mentioned in a travel article at all? Ikan Kekek (talk) 16:59, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
What is an article?
[edit]Hi IfyCkassique. Thank you for your contributions to Wikivoyage. It is important to understand that this is a travel guide, not an encyclopedia. Wikivoyage:What is an article? explains that "there should not be articles about individual... tiny or sparsely populated villages and hamlets that have no cultural or natural attractions, or hospitality venues". Are you planning to add travel information to Unubi? Ground Zero (talk) 14:19, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
