- Hi! Our articles in Wales are also happy to get more local infos. jan (talk) 08:30, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello. Are you associated with Rhiwiau Isaf Guesthouse? If not, please post a non-touty listing for it in the Llanfairfechan guide. The listing you posted used the word "we" and was touty, calling the guesthouse "ideally situated," which is a no-no. If you are in fact employed by the guesthouse, don't list it and have a look at wbo for some advice on what you can do. Many thanks for your other edits, which have been improving this guide. - No! No association! I copied it from their website. Did the same with this one here. I'll amend the wording now. I'm plodding on through good 3* accommodtion or higher, so that I can learn the rules as I have created the Welsh Wikivoyage site: here. The links you gave me are very valuable, and informative. Many thanks. PS I have a semi-autoBot (AWB), with which I uploaded over a thousand villages on Wikipedia-cy on Wednesday. If the wording is geared to the visitor can I do the same here using a database e.g. number of visitors, weather template? I will need to do that on Wikivoyage-cy as there's only me!!! Many thanks. - Can you please take a look at my edited version? Thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 12:27, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Much improved. Please don't copy directly from sites, as that also runs afoul of rules on copyright violation. Thanks again, and all the best, Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:23, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your contributions, but as Ikan noted, any lodging descriptions cannot be copied directly from other web sites, both due to copyright law violation and due to prohibitions on marketing in Wikivoyage guides. I'm not entirely sure I understand what process you're using to generate lodging listings, but please be sure not to copy directly from other web sites as such information must be removed from Wikivoyage in accordance with copyright law. -- Ryan • (talk) • 20:42, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am changing a few words in each sentence. I'm sure this would be acceptable to both the guest house and the copyright specialists. If you prefer no text, then I'll do that. Thanks again. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 20:47, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I think there are two points to make: first [1] appears to have been copied from Tripadvisor which gets us in trouble over copyright, even if one or two words are changed. Second, many of the listings read like promotions - when looking at your changes my assumption was that you were working for the hotels in question, although per the discussion above I realized what was going on. One of the explicit non-goals of Wikivoyage is to simply be a hotel directory, so if you are adding numerous hotel listings it would be best to do a bit more review of the hotel description to ensure that the it gives the reader enough info to make an informed decision about the lodging, rather than just repeating the marketing material put out by the hotel. Hopefully that makes sense - as noted, your contributions are appreciated, but copyright issues and use of Wikivoyage for promotional purposes (or the appearance that the site is being used for promotion) are two HUGE issues that we try to be extremely vigilant about. -- Ryan • (talk) • 20:58, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- If it is helpful, Wikivoyage:Don't tout#Examples has two examples of hotel listings - one good, and one typical of what marketers add to guides. -- Ryan • (talk) • 21:02, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. Not having text seems stupid; I'll review and write in my own words. Makes sense also to find the prices; more so - how many stars. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 21:10, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Welsh Challenge
[edit]Hi Llywelyn, on it:voy people is asking me if for the Welsh challenge are valid only the article that you have inserted in the "Fistful of Nuggets" page, or if are valid any Welsh article.
This question has arisen because we miss the Cardiff article and a user has created it just yesterday night.
Let me know, --Andyrom75 (talk) 06:27, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there! Only the articles in the table - but I've added Cardiff! They should also add the ticks - if they've added sleep, drink and eat! Many thanks: avante! Llywelyn2000 (talk) 09:50, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi again. Please take a look at this discussion page and share your thoughts. Thanks, --Andyrom75 (talk) 11:13, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Help
[edit]I'm sorry, but I don't understand very well the scoring. Could you explain me? If I have create an article with about 16.000 bytes and with 27 listing, but only 14 sleep, drink or eat, how many point shall I get? 40? Thanks --Lkcl it (Talk) 16:17, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Very sorry it's not clear. To get 10 points for article you need sleep (x2), eat and drink links. If it is 16.000 bytes you get 16 points. Total = 26 points. If you have 14 drink, sleep and eat listings: add + 28. Therefore 26+28=54
- I will use this as an example on the Participants Page for everybody to understand. Many thanks! I am trying to find sponsors for good prizes! Llywelyn2000 (talk) 17:19, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, two more questions:
- 1.You have written
- "+10 points for each new translation of an article in any language.
- +2 points for each +1,000 bytes of added content in any language.
- +1 point for each listing (sleep, eat or drink)"
- Is it wrong? I mean: +1 points for each +1,000 bytes of added content in any language. and +2 point for each listing (sleep, eat or drink)?
- 2.The total score of the previous example was 54? 16+10+28?
- I'm sorry for my misunderstending (I don't speak english very well). Thanks Lkcl it (Talk) 18:02, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- My mistake! I think I need to go to bed! 26+28=54. Many thanks. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 20:11, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- And what about the 1st question? Lkcl it (Talk) 20:41, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Which question? 'Is it wrong?' Maybe 2 points for 1.000 text and 1 for listings? What do you think? Llywelyn2000 (talk) 05:44, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, i think that in the sentences you have written there is a mistake: if i have understood, you get 1 point for each 1000 bytes and 2 for each listing added (and in my opinion you have written the opposite). Thanks--Lkcl it (Talk) 14:56, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

New page points
[edit]To get 10 point I have to add sleep listing, but generally on it.voy we don't use them on itinerary. Could you reply to my question: it:Wikivoyage:Lounge#Competizione_Interlingua? Thanks --Lkcl it (Talk) 12:04, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
