Hello, Moncef The Historian! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

When creating an article about a mountain range, it's worth thinking about what's laid out in Wikivoyage:What is an article, although it doesn't mention mountains per se. Your lede so far has no really travel-related content: "The Altay or Altai Mountains are a series of mountains in central Asia. It's range extends for about 1,200 miles. it covers Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan." That would be in place in Wikipedia. Basic location info and a stat on the extent of the range. But is it a coherent tourist attraction? How so? That, and practical considerations for travelers, are what you should focus on, but also either make sure it fits into this site's Wikivoyage:Breadcrumb navigation by inserting the next region up in "IsPartOf" - or make it a Wikivoyage:Extraregion, which seems like the only logical way to treat a mountain range that crosses 4 countries, if this article is indeed about the whole mountain range (and it should still be breadcrumbed to Asia).

Hello Ikan Thanks for your Feedback. after careful reading i came to the conclusion that you are right.
I will keep in mind in the future when creating a page whether it's Travel/Tourism related or not.
wish you the best. Moncef The Historian (talk) 15:05, 12 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
