Hello, Romanichthys Valsanicola! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.
Thanks for adding a banner to Pitești, but please notice that Wikivoyage banners should have 7:1 proportions, for example 2100 px width and 300 px height. --ϒpsilon (talk) 08:16, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
The road looks really cool, I am going to have to find a way to visit this, but I am not sure it deserves its own article. Is there a town nearby that has hotels and restaurants that it could be moved into? --Traveler100 (talk) 07:49, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Traveler100 I do not know what to answer, because it is the second highest altitude road in Romania (after Transalpina) and it is of national interest and secondly the road is half in Muntenia, half in Transylvania and Curtea de Arges is in Muntenia and I do not think that can be moved attractions from Transylvania at that town.
You do what's best, I am indifferent! --Romanichthys Valsanicola (talk) 22:26, 02 February 2017 (EET)
Listings vs. markers
[edit]Hi. Why are you using markers instead of listing templates in Pitești#See? Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:27, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- Because I want to show the locations of the touristic attractions. Romanichthys Valsanicola (talk) 8:44, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- Do you understand that listing templates have tabs for "lat" and "long"? There is no advantage in using markers instead of listings to show location. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:50, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
Copying from Wikipedia
[edit]Your recent edits to the Pitești guide have been reverted, for two reasons: (1) Uncredited copying from Wikipedia is a violation of both Wikipedia's Creative Commons Copyleft and Wikivoyage's Copyleft policy; (2) Copying encyclopedic text, complete with red links that go nowhere on Wikivoyage, is unhelpful.
Please do not do this kind of uncredited copying again. If you feel that text in Wikipedia is essential for a Wikivoyage article, please do two things: (1) Credit your source in your edit summary (the edit summary is the user-added text you can see in parentheses in article histories like this one, and you can type it in yourself in the separate space below your edit screen); (2) Eliminate all irrelevant links, footnote numbers and overly encyclopedic text.
Summarizing and paraphrasing is often most useful when copying some content from Wikipedia to Wikivoyage.
For more on the relationship between the two sites, have a look at Welcome, Wikipedians.

Aromanian phrasebook
[edit]Hi there, just letting you know that the words that go in the brackets is how it's pronounced. I made a similar mistake as well on Nauruan phrasebook, but just a friendly message letting you know. Cheers, SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:20, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
Temporary account IP viewer
[edit]Hello, Romanichthys Valsanicola.
A recent change now means that all IP addresses are no longer visible to most ordinary users. However, as per WMF policy, any user who has made at least 300 edits with an account older than 6 months may request the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) permission to view IP addresses of all temporary accounts for up to 90 days. You are receiving this mass message because your account is autopatrolled, or has patroller and/or template editor permissions, and have over 300 edits, and thus are likely eligible to request this permission.
Guidelines surrounding the use of the tool can be found at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer; if granted, you must also accept the WMF policy in your preferences.
TAIV permissions can be requested at Wikivoyage:Temporary account IP viewer/Requests, or on any admin's talk page.
