Hello Ziyi Deng! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

About these edits, you are not supposed to put secondary source links in Wikivoyage articles per Wikivoyage:External links, but that link produced an NGINX error for me, and did you copy and paste from it? Please answer as soon as possible. Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:08, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Primary names in listings must be in Roman letters, etc.

[edit]

Hi. I notice you never replied to my last message on this page, but I'm posting this, anyway. When you post a listing on this site, the Chinese-language name needs to be in "alt," which stands for "alternate name." English-language readers need to be able to read the primary name.

In addition, I noticed that you added a listing for a visit to a folk instrument-maker's workshop in Urumqi, stated the hours as "by prior arrangement" but did not provide a way to contact the instrument-maker. If he has an email address or phone number you know or can find, it's very important to include it. Otherwise, the only way to arrange a visit in advance is to show up unannounced, and if he happens to be there, talk to him about scheduling, but you did not mention whether that would be the right thing to do. User:Ziyi Deng, please respond to the messages on this page. Thanks, and thanks for adding so much content! Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:11, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Good. Thank you for the reminder. Because I haven't been with Wikipedia for long, there may have been operational errors. Thank you for your mistake. I am now modifying. Visiting the Urumqi Instrument Making Workshop requires no reservation and can be reached directly:) Ziyi Deng (talk) 15:14, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much! You add lots of wonderful, unique content; some of it just has to be edited somewhat. (Remember, though, that this is Wikivoyage, not Wikipedia). Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:17, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
